This presentation describes the problem of child maltreatment and some barriers to having effective management strategies. The aim of this Child Maltreatment Toolkit is to improve emergency clinical care for children living in Illinois who may have concerns for maltreatment by promoting health, wellness and safety.  The presentation reviews pediatric considerations and trauma-informed measures when obtaining and documenting a history of a child having concerns for child sexual abuse/assault.
